My work engages in dialogues between inner and outer worlds, exploring the intersections of the body, materiality, and the environment. I investigate how historical and cultural movements shape these relationships, with a focus on ancestral traditions, myths, and material elements that both challenge and reflect ongoing colonial systems. Rooted in Black diasporic contexts, my practice highlights how the body, material objects, and place carry and embody collective memory, offering pathways to understanding ourselves and each other. Themes of race, feminism, displacement, class, and loss are central to my work. Artistic research into the materials and objects I use is integral to my practice, with molasses, indigo, and tree branches recurring as co-performers in the works I create. I earned my BA in Fine Art Practice and Psychology from the University of Worcester and my MA in Contemporary Art Practice: Performance from the Royal College of Art. My work has been shown internationally, including in SPILL Festival of Performance, Ipswich, Alchemy Film Festival, Hawick, Scotland, the National Museum of Modern Contemporary Art in Seoul, South Korea, and Uppsala Konstmuseum, Sweden. I am a recipient of the Royal College of Art Leverhulme scholarship award and the Franklin Furnace Performance Art Fund in New York City, USA.
